Definition: Pier One (also known as P.I.E.Y.R.O.) was a British pop-rock band from London, England. It was formed in 1992 by vocalist Nicky Hopkins, guitarist John Deacon, bassist Andy Long, drummer Tony Squire and keyboard player Stephen Roper. The band's music is characterized by its distinctive style of hard rock with elements of punk rock, heavy metal, blues rock and American folk-rock. They have released several albums over the years, including "R.I.P. Pier One" (1996), which was a commercial success in the UK charts but not as commercially successful internationally. Pier One's members went on to form other British bands such as The Beach Boys and The Beatles' Fab Four, and they have continued to produce music since their split in 2017.
